Climate Sensing Nanotechnology is Moving into Unexpected Fields and Proving Its Benefits

In 2009, Rakesh Katragadda founded the Ann Arbor based AMF-Nano Corp. Since then, Rakesh has pushed his climate sensing  nanotechnology into the fields of manufacturing, agriculture, and medicine. AMF currently utilizes the Lurie Nanofabrication Facility (LNF) for research and production; Michael Drake, the University of Michigan College of Engineering Director of Corporate Relations, says that by AMF and other companies using office and lab space at the LNF, students can work side by side with private sector companies to learn about product development and the demands of the market. AMF’s products created over $100,000 in revenue this year alone, with projections of over 10 million over the next four years. Rakesh’s success was achieved through support from various people, institutions, and businesses across the country that were inspired by his motivation and great ideas. To read more about the growth of AMF and some specific projects Rakesh is working on, see below for the article in Crain’s Detroit Business News.
